Last week the Landmark High School photography class came for a visit. I gave them a mini workshop, then we headed out to my new stomping grounds and took some pictures. My little Ava was the model for them. They were the models for me.

I can’t let April end without an update regarding the workshop. I truly enjoyed myself and look forward to offering more in the future. Below is a group shot of all of the participants during a moment that it wasn’t raining. Actually, we were able to do the outdoor portion of the workshop without umbrellas. Bonus. Unfortunately, however, they had to use their imagination when it came to working with the sun!

At one point they turned their cameras toward me, I hope they keep those photos to themselves.

And of course, a photo of each beautiful {and handsome} participant…..

Thanks to the numerous companies that donated to the drawing. It helped to keep everyone awake during my lecture portion of the workshop.
Loco Mama Designs is the first company I’d like to highlight. They have so many cute things it was hard to choose what to feature. Check them out here! My sister in law, Renee, is friends with the designers {and the photographer of the photos below}. Whenever I see Renee she’s always sporting something new and cute from Locomama. These cell phone cases eliminate digging in your purse while everyone enjoys your ring tone. And, I love the fabric choices they have! Thanks Locomama Designers, Lori and Colleen!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you live in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area and you’d like to attend The Beginners Workshop, well, you’re in luck. I’ll be offering one on May 30. Contact me for details…. sara@smapix.com.
