So my role as photographer of the wedding, sister of the bride, wife of the officiate, mother of the flower girl, jr. bridesmaid, ring bearer, and jr. groomsman had its challenges.  I wouldn’t have had it any other way.  Although, I’m relieved to know that all the weddings I photograph from here on out, I will only have to worry about shooting the wedding!  I couldn’t have done it without all the amazing help from my Aunt Betsy: childcare-extraordinaire, Drew: catch-all…. including my attitude, sister-in-law Molly: steller second shooter, sister-in-law Renee: rain boot & umbrella last minute shopper, Caitlin: babysitter-lifesaver, and the list goes on and on!  Thank you!

Since both Amanda and Matt are nurses I thought a stethoscope would make a great ring shot.  Getting a stethoscope the day of the wedding proved a bit challenging.  Thanks Shari for helping make my idea a reality.  She called several different people and finally contacted one of the doctors Amanda works with.  He was able to bring it to the reception.

I mentioned the challenge of mothering and working simultaneously, the below pictures are a sample what I’m talking about.

Kaylie and Josh were married on April 24th.  It was a family affair.  We all had a part of the beautiful day.  I was the privileged photographer.  I truly enjoyed myself; largely due to the fact that I got to work next to the amazingly talented videographer mastermind over at Captured Productions. Okay, so he’s my brother, but I’ve never worked side by side with him in this way.

We tried not to fight for the shot too much…..

We worked it out and TOOK TURNS, as long as I got my shot first!

The first look, that moment shared between just the bride and groom…..

And a few of the bride’s closest “hidden” friends and family.

I think Josh approves!

Sometimes a groom needs to see what I mean when it comes to a certain pose.  I was there to show him.  Little did I know that someone else was there to CAPTURE ME showing him.  Nice.

He totally pulled it off!

Christy my friend since childhood and photog. extraordinaire was my second shooter.  I was so grateful to have her there.  It meant a second brain to help me remember everything, great photos from a different perspective, and the ability to be in a few pix with my family.

These two princess ballerina’s almost stole the show. They are quite cute and took their flower girl job very seriously.

After a pedicure, spray tan & make-up my little girl was feeling and looking way too grown up!  We made her walk the aisle with her daddy {and officiant} to remind her that any male interest would have to go through him first… in 20 years of course.

My boys had the job of passing out the order of service.  The took a more laid back approach when it came to their assignment.   They simply grabbed a seat on the half wall of the church sanctuary and ate a cookie while on the clock.

Then, time for the “hired help” to let loose!

I have so many great memories from the day.  Can’t wait to shoot for my little-bit-older- baby-sister’s wedding in August!

I woke up to the sounds of thunder.  No, make that, thunder woke me up.  The outdoor wedding had been moved inside the night before for fear of such an event.  However, the bride didn’t miss a beat.  She just went with the flow, with the greatest of ease.  It turned out to be a beautiful day despite the rain drops we dodged all day.

The more weddings I shoot, the more I love the prep. shots.  It’s so emotional and meaningful.  I feel privileged to be a part of such a special time.

My sister in law Renee, that I’d much prefer to just call sister, was my second shooter at this wedding.  She captured several of these images.  The girl rocks.  I can’t wait to be HER second shooter in July.
