I may be showing my age, but I love me some Phil Collins!! Ha.
Anyway, I have some fun studio pix to show you! It’s how I’ve been spending my time of late. Well, that and a bunch of other launch-2008 type stuff. There are some final details that need to be tweaked with the website and studio, but for the most part it’s complete. Therefore, I’m sharing it. There’s a complete album of photos to the right of this blog post, but here are a few highlight photos.

It’s hard to really show you how massive this canvas of my kids is, but it’s covering up a 40×60-ish window. I planned to black out the window, but the back light it lets through the canvas is oh so lovely that it’s staying just the way it is.
I’m offering canvas this year, so you too may have a poster size photo of your kiddos!

Here’s the white couch that my sister questioned my sanity when I purchased. I keep the studio locked when it’s not in use and have no writing utensils within child reach. And, I pray… Lord please protect the couch from my artists!

I’m offering ordering sessions this year. Here’s where we’ll meet.
I’ve had this idea in my head for quite some time and I love how it turned out. Well, I will love it, when it’s hung correctly. I hired someone to help me with anything that required a power tool. Apparently that man wasn’t into the precision that hanging 16 canvas squares right next to each other takes. Drew, however, promises that he can do it for me. Hopefully that will be in the very near future.
Felt balls compliments of the Vintage Flea. Made to look like gum balls without quite the same appeal as real ones would bring.
I had my fabrics stretched like a canvas… SO much easier to handle! If any photogs. are interested, check out the complete album to see a few more photos of the stretched fabrics.
Here’s the pretty piece of equipment that I have a love-hate relationship with. Oh, and my new website! Check it out! www.smapix.com The music isn’t live yet b/c, quite honestly, the music has me stumped. I can’t come up with any songs that best represent Sara Anthony Photography. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.
These two foot stools make me smile. Nordstroms was clearing out their display items one day and I just happened to be there. I bought these two Juicy Couture stools they were selling for way to cheap….. $20 bucks, I think. Now they are at home in the studio.
Finally, the rug that inspired my look for 2008.

Stripes make me happy. They always have. When I was brainstorming for
my 2008 branding I started with a list of the things I’m drawn to….
bright colors, stars, circles, and stripes. So there you have it, a
room full of things that bring a smile to my face.

I am still alive, yet disappointed that I haven’t been a better blogger. I’m finding that when I become consistent in one thing, another thing drops off. I know it’s only January 14, but I’ve been so much better about reading my Bible, cooking dinner for my family and exercising (all of which were 2008 resolutions). I so should have put blog daily or something on my list.
I’ll have some photo sessions to share soon. It’s still a slow process due to the switchover to Mac that I made. After umpteen tutorials from www.lynda.com and numerous ichats with my brother on how to run Aperture (my raw conversion software), I’m finally getting it!

….and some bad news. Which would you like first? The good news, you say. Well, next year you are going to get 2 Christmas cards from me. The bad news, this year you’ll receive none, zero, zip.
The second batch of cards arrived printed correctly (unlike the first ones), however by their arrival date I’d already left for vacation. I’ve since lost the gumption to send them out. They are to cute to miss out on, but you’ll just have to wait a year. I’m on to 2008 items of business. Fun things like a totally remodeled studio, new computer (I took the plunge and went Mac, as of right now I want to pull my hair out, but I’ve been promised that it will be worth it in the long run!!), new website, fresh branding…. loads of things to look forward to. They only trouble is it has me a little overwhelmed. I’ll try not to let the blog suffer, even if it means posting a quick photo or two.
I will leave you with a story about Jaxton & a couple photos from our family photo session compliments of Miracles Photography, my dear friend Stephanie.
Jaxton gets in the car after school today. First thing out of his mouth….
Jax: "Mom, Cadence kissed me on the playground today."
Me: "You shouldn’t let her do that, those cheeks are for mommy only!"
Jax: "No mom, it’s okay. I liked it."
Oh man, I’m in so much trouble. The kid’s only 4!!
