For most people I photograph it takes a few frames before they feel comfy in front of the camera. And if I’m asking a mom and dad to snuggle or kiss…. even more frames. I hear a lot of "we forgot how" or "since the kids were born…"
I began this session with a little speech I give about warming up to my camera. Things like…. "It’s okay to have nervous laughter there’s no audio on my camera. Snuggle up like you do at home. I’ll take wide angle shots at first till you get use to someone following you with a camera through the streets of downtown." The father of two’s response, "No problem, we love to snuggle." And he was right. They needed no warming up. They were such fun and up for anything. I felt like I was shooting an engagement session!

I’ve always wanted……longed…… wished for curly hair. Hair doesn’t get much straighter than mine, but I keep wishing. As a child with my hair tangled in rollers and the scent of perm chemicals dripping from my split ends, I attempted to mimic curls. I thought I’d gotten past the curl longing until I began editing this session. It came flooding back, that stubborn desire for curls. What I wouldn’t give to have beautiful cascading curls like this client’s. Well it shall not be, so I guess I’ll go plug in my curling iron!

One… A senior GUY hired me to photograph him, well his mom did. That’s how it goes right? A mom’s job, hire the photographer. I’ve been wondering where all the male seniors are. Well, I had to travel to find him, another Michigan client.
Two………. I found a patch of soft grass in Georgia! It’s a miracle. Granted it was made up of 3 leaf clovers, but I’ll take it! I had a beautiful senior girl relax in it and strike a pose!

It will still be a few weeks until I can get to this latest session, but I don’t want his mom to worry that I didn’t get any pix. He wasn’t really into me documenting him at four. Really, he wanted to see a train, after all we were at the train tracks!! We did uncover a car for him to climb on though!! He was happy. I was happy with this picture. Win. Win.
