We ventured out of the city and spent the night in the mountains of Tennessee. Well, we had a cabin. I’m not that into roughing it! We went with some new friends of ours and their 2 girls.
The advise given to us before leaving town, "Watch out for the rattlers." Nice, thanks for the advice. And what does one do to "watch out"? My interpretation, "Stay in the cabin." I did manage to be one with nature just long enough to take a few pictures.

*Note: I didn’t tell them to hold hands, they just were. Of course I took a picture of it, who knows how much longer they’ll be willing to do that!
People hang glide off this mountain. It was very nerve wrecking being so close to the edge, unless your 6 and fearless.
Proof that I was present on this trip.
You’ve got to love the silence that a sleeping baby on the car ride home gives.

This made me laugh……
These were the first words out of Ellexa’s mouth when I picked her up from the bus stop.
"Mom, I missed a word on my spelling test today."
ME: "You did, why?"
Elle: "My teacher said, ‘spell: thang’. I didn’t know what a ‘thang’ was, but I spelled it, T-H-A-N-G. I got it wrong!"
ME: "Ellexa, I think she was saying ‘thing’ ."
Elle: "It didn’t sound like ‘thing’."
Welcome to the South Baby!

I know I’ve been slacking in the blogging department, but that’s only because I’ve been playing hostess to all my Michigan visitors. Although I love blogging, oh how I love, LOVE reminders of home in the form of people I care about.
This week my Aunt Betsy came and we played cameras and Photoshop! She too recently bought the Canon 30D. It was so fun. Thanks Bets for a great week!
Here’s a few pix from our photo excursion. It was crazy hot that day. The kind of hot that makes you think you accidentally jumped in a pot of boiling mac and cheese noodles….hot, wet, and everything sticks to you!
* Bet you’re starting to wonder if I ever put clothes on my kids. I know there have been a lot of shirtless kids of mine on my blog of late. Really, I do dress them. I have the laundry pile to prove it!

I had a shoot today with one cute bundle. You can’t beat spending time with these wrinkly little creatures….. and then handing them back to their mom’s when you’re done.

Pictures from the first day of school.
No question who the outgoing one is!
Ellexa was just a little excited to meet some new friends!
Then there’s the reserved one….
He too was excited, it just wasn’t written all over his face.
That is, until he started doing *silly* poses for me.
Then things started to brighten on his cute little mug.
I must include a few details from the *girlie* side of things.
Ellexa’s hair style, compliments of Chelsy’s visit.
And the nails, can’t forget the nails!
