So I just realized that none of my emails since JUNE 10 have gone out. Sorry to anyone that has emailed me and didn’t receive anything back. I did attempt to be in contact with the outside world, I just wasn’t and didn’t know it. I need to… silly me, Drew needs to figure out what’s going on and fix it. He’s good at that sort of stuff. Me, not so good. Hope to be back in business soon. Very soon. It’s how I communicate. Now I just feel like I’ve been talking to myself for the past 2 weeks. AHHHH!
** Random photo. I know. Can’t post without a picture, personal rule. It must be all the chilrens books I read influencing me.

Avas, as she is affectionately called at our house, is growing up on us. She never asked me if it was okay. She just started doing things like growing teeth, crawling, saying mama (no complaints on that one), and now saying dada. The crawling just began last week. She’s been going backward for a bit now, but she woke up on Saturday and began the forward crawl. No big effort just went for it and hasn’t looked back since. She’s also begun some hair growth. Great fun for me and all the bows that have been sitting in her dresser since birth. The teeth, the teeth came with an ear infection and popped through with some good antibiotics. My goodness, what’s next…. college? I hope not, potty training would be nice though, for her and her brother.
Happy 8mo. Peanut! I’ve really got to post a picture of me as a baby. She is me all the way, and it only took 4 tries to get one to look like me!

I can’t quite get my head around this one. Check this out. A few months ago I met an incredible woman, a friend. We have so much in common: both have 4 kids (same genders, same ages), similar beliefs, our husbands get along, and we shop well together. Who could ask for anything more? Well, yes, there is one thing more I would have asked for, as long as we’re asking. Could she please not live so far away?! Yep, she’s a Michigander. My new friend lives 14 hours away. Crazy, I know. I don’t understand the timing, but I’m so glad to have met her nonetheless.
Before I left for Georgia, we had one last lunch together and our two oldest met for the first time. They too hit it off right away. Who knows what the future will bring, for now we email.

I have a father like no other. I recently spent two weeks in his home and was once again reminded of what an incredible man he is. Every morning he brings my mother breakfast in bed. He cleans a kitchen like no man I’ve ever seen. Put him in a room of strangers…. wait a minute, my dad’s never met a stranger; everyone’s a friend. They just have to be willing to hear a story or two about his kids and/or grandkids. He brags on us like we’re royalty. I love you Dad. I know you’re reading. Thanks!
There’s another dad out there I can’t leave out. He’s not my father, but he father’s my children. Safe to say, I know him pretty well. I wouldn’t go with just anyone to another side of the country. But with him, I’d go just about anywhere. He’s an amazing dad to our 4 munchkins. Just yesterday he had them all out painting a mailbox, something I wouldn’t venture to do. He makes my heart smile when I see him throwing a ball with our son or snuggling with our daughters. I love you Drew.

Anyone out there? We have made it. We’re safe, sound and far far away from all that I know and find comfort in. However, I have managed to successfully navigate my way to Target, TJMaxx and the neighborhood pool several times already. My mom and sister, Kaylie, made the trip down with me and stayed for the week. What a blessing that was. I’m still unpacking, but I’m so much further along thanks to them. My sister-in-law, Julie, and her family have also been wonderful, having us over to dinner and being my personal Map Quest at the ring of a cell phone.
It feels right and home-like to be typing away on my computer. The location is different, but the feeling is comforting. My computer has found a home in our bonus room, a space dedicated to my photography. I can’t wait to get everything set up and hang some pictures on the walls.
My fake fern has been replaced with a real, yes, real fern. I’m giving it a go. We’ll see if the warmer climate can help my green thumb. My hubby gives it 2 weeks before it’s at death’s door. I’ll keep you posted.
It’s good to be back here. I’ve missed posting. Be sure to leave me comments, so I know you’re all out there. It will make everyone feel closer.
