There’s never a dull moment around here! Today I left for a doctor’s appointment and returned to this…..
My boys were doing "science experiments". It looked harmless, a spoon, a magnifying glass, a thimble, a pencil, a pair of scissors, a lot of imagination. But harmless fun quickly turned into mischievous trouble. Jalen, yes my 6 year old, not the two year old, began passing out the free hair cuts. Started with Jaxton’s and ended with his own. My husband’s solution, shave their heads. There really wasn’t many options when you consider the hair stylist that did the cut. Here’s the end result, 2 baldies. Mark it down as one more proud mom moment! It will give the new neighbors something to talk about.
"Do you ‘all think that’s how them boys wear there hair there in Michigan?"

Some families go camping on a holiday weekend, we got our picture taken. Bonding time, the *whole* family all in one place at one time. We get together often, but we’re rarely able to capture us all in print to prove it. A lot of squirmy kids to capture. We didn’t care if it wasn’t perfect. After all, what is perfect? It’s just us…being us, one BIG family. A family I love to such a degree I can’t put it into words. That’s perfect enough for me.
Stephanie came through again capturing us, all 17 of us… I know I’m deeply indebted. I can’t wait to repay her with the same kindness and generosity.
We tried to get each kid looking in the right direction. You know, so we can remember what they look like when we move. But our favorite…..
Yep, this one by far. Too fun.
Oh, there is a brother too.

I love photographing people downtown. All the textures, the old, the new it makes for a creative shoot. This past Tuesday I had the opportunity to do a family session downtown. I usually shoot Seniors downtown, so this was a real bonus.

Last year at this time some of my photography was featured in a few of the Parade of Homes. My intention was to receive some business, however I was blessed with something so much more. I met a fellow photographer that has since become a dear friend. At the time I was feeling overwhelmed with my business and was praying that God would bring someone into my life that would be of help. Stephanie of Miracles Photography was the answer to my prayers. She is an incredibly talented photographer and mother of 4 beautiful kids.
She came over to my house today to photograph our family in front of our house, our "old" house. One of the final steps to moving South. I will forever cherish these pictures. Thank you Stephanie. You are a true blessing beyond measure. I will miss you dearly.
Her blog can be found here.
I think the kiddos were DONE!
*Whenever you’re in a creative business like photography there are people who inspire you. Some are friends and some complete strangers. Tara Whitney is one of those "complete stranger" inspirations. I’d like to give her credit for a few of the poses chosen for our photo shoot. Thanks Tara.

This evening I was changing Ava, preparing her for bed. Jalen came over, sat down beside her and said, "I love having a baby sister." They have a cool bond. It makes this mom smile and warms my heart!
