Since my blog has arrived on the scene there are two people that I strongly encourage forcefully twist their arm to read my blog. The first would like to remain nameless, but he responds to Honey and Husband when I call. And he’s pictured here… (Did I mention he’s hot?)
The second is Chelsy, our babysitter, youth group member, and friend, all snuggled up into one beautiful girl. Whenever she stops over I’m always pulling up my blog and making her read it. As if a teenager has any interest in reading the blog of a 32 year, mother of four, I still make her. It’s practice. I want her to get use to reading it, so that when we’re away she can stay connected with us.
Chelsy comes from an amazing family. She’s one of 5 children. Everyone of them is talented in their own way. It’s really no surprise when you consider their mother, Darby. Darby is a dear friend of mine and has voluntarily watched my children faithfully every Thursday for 7 years so that I can run errands kid free (I know, all you moms want her phone number when I leave don’t you?). She’s one of those people you call when you need someone to pray for you. And, she’s passed it on. Chelsy’s an incredible woman of God and I strongly believe she will have a powerful impact on many lives as she fulfills her calling to be a youth pastor!
You will be greatly missed my friend!
Chelsy if you’re reading this, you better leave me a comment, (another thing I "strongly encourage" and that goes for everyone).

As previously promised, a house hunt update. Well, this past Thursday Drew and I began our search. We had 4 days and high hopes. A long exhausting search lead us through many homes, from unmade beds to beer cans on the floor. We got an eye full and we had appointments; we weren’t breaking in! By Sunday evening we were hopeless and discouraged. We reluctantly decided we may have to postpone moving into a house upon arrival and build. We headed back to a builder we had met earlier to view some floor plans and to weigh our options. While looking over several floor plans, the builder’s assistant asked if we’d seen one of their completed homes down the street. Somehow it had been previously overlooked, yet right on time. After a thorough search through each room Drew and I both knew this was the one. It had everything we were looking for and it’s ready for moving in!
A good friend of mine recently told me, "With this big step of faith you’re taking, you’ll see the miracles of God like never before." Although that statement scares me to death on so many levels, the truth of it is being seen with every step we take! Trusting in God… Kinda’ scary, Kinda’ cool!
One more blessing… when I asked what school the kids would be attending in the fall, our realtor said the house was zoned to a brand new school. My kids will be one of several hundred "new kids". (Insert a big SIGH of relief from Ellexa and Jalen).
Here’s the house……
The house has a bonus room upstairs for all our guests, and the neighborhood is equipped with a few pools, a lazy river, a spray park, tennis courts, golf… have I convinced you to visit me yet?

I’m sure the kisses will be flooding in any day now. Your morning coffee just isn’t the same without a good blog read, right? Well, I’m back. Back from a long 4 days of house hunting in Georgia. I’ll give more details on that in an upcoming entry. But for now, here’s my latest revelation.
When you’re away, some things you miss….
And some things you don’t!!

While dunking eggs in colored vinegar over the weekend, a very spiritual experience, I asked Jalen if he knew why we celebrate Easter. A simple quick check to see if we of Christian lineage have sufficiently pasted on our beliefs. His answer, "No."
Maybe I should back up a few holidays to jog his memory. "How about Christmas. Do you know why we celebrate Christmas?"
"No."
Oh man….anyone, anyone birthed from my loins. Can you tell this pastor’s wife why we celebrate EASTER?
The first born chimes in, "Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins and rose again on the third day, that’s Easter. And Christmas is when Jesus was born."
One down…. a few more to work on.
"Yeah, I knew that." Jalen later informed me.
Few!
